The Inclusion Menu

The Inclusion Menu features 50-minute conversation starters themed around diversity and inclusion, which we bring to your faculty and staff meetings, labs, or gatherings.

Pathway Programs

Pathways within the Biological Sciences Division are designed to serve the needs of unique target groups including high school students, undergraduate and graduate students, and post-doctoral fellows. Learn more about our initiatives here!

Grants

The small grants program and faculty grants program are now open for 2023-2024!
Faculty, Students and Staff are able to fund their DEI work through our Grants programs.
These projects should:
  • Support the scholarship of staff, students, and trainees from backgrounds historically underrepresented in science and medicine.
  • Enhance diversity related programs and initiatives, including external speakers.
  • Investigate diversity related topics, health disparities, or involve underrepresented or sexual minority populations
We fund BSD or UCMC staff, students, or trainees (trainees = graduate students, postdocs, or house staff).  Applicants must not have received one of our Small Grants within the last 12 months.

History and Context Mini Institute

The History and Context Mini Insitute helps us explore and understand the underlying causes of the disparities we face in science and society. This year our history and context mini insitute will investigate the relationship between opression and racialized violence.
